Leah Bendahan was born in 1970 in Caracas, Venezuela. She
moved to New York City 1990 to study the arts at Fashion
Institute of Technology. After receiving her B.F.A from FIT (1996),
she "paid her dues" by doing commissioned portraits.
Leah has a crown tattooed on her left hand. That's not a tribute to Jean-Michael
Basquiat (although she likes his paintings!), but rather an ironic gesture to the people
that say: "Leah !? You mean like princess Leia from Star Wars ?" If you find a tiny crown in one of Leah's paintings, you can be sure that she is extra
pleased with that painting!

and the absolute best vibe! That is why I love to paint the Rave- culture.
To me it's a scene where science, technology, music and global culture meets
today.
