Dorothy Garlock:
after the parade

Dorothy Garlock, After the Parade

When I first picked up After the Parade, I read a few pages and then put the book down. A few months later I returned to the book (for lack of anything else at the time!) and pushed myself past the beginning. A good idea! This book certainly is worthwhile reading.

The book is set in a small town during the 1940's after the World War. A husband and wife, Johhny and Kathleen, had been drifting apart prior to his leaving for the war, and had not reconciled when he returned. Both of them care deeply for the other but are too concerned about their own feelings to have a conversation.

Interesting characters (including supporting) and story lines. So if you are interested in the small town feel and old time sensibilities this is the book for you. [an error occurred while processing this directive]
